Located in eastern Latvia, an interesting sight for off the beaten path exploring is the abandoned Soviet military town Skrunda-1. I was there in 2015 and it was very non-touristy then.

One can walk around for hours and not find all interesting places. I was lucky to find this amazing shooting range.
I wasn’t there alone. It sounded like local kids having a drinking party and breaking windows. It felt a bit like Stalker crouching around and it was getting late, so it was time to leave.
